NYTimes.Com Launches New Small Business Blog
NYTimes.com has launched You’re the Boss , a new blog offering advice, support and inspiration for small business owners, who employ about half of all private sector employees in the United States. You’re the Boss discusses small business issues such as health care costs, federal stimulus assistance, state and local regulations, and changes in the marketplace.
“One of the guiding thoughts behind this blog is that unlike other professionals, business owners rarely get any training; nor do they have a lot of places to turn to compare notes, get advice, learn from one another’s mistakes and keep up with the important changes coming out of Washington,” said Loren Feldman, small business editor, The New York Times. “We’re hoping this will be that kind of community, and plan to add more voices and features in the months ahead.”
You’re the Boss is the first iteration of the redesigned online Small Business section.
This new blog is part of The Times’s expansion of its online business coverage that began last year with a new Economy section , followed by an enhanced Technology section, the introduction of the Economix , Green Inc. and Gadgetwise blogs, and the launch of the Energy and Environment and Your Money sections.
