Endemol secures renewal for ‘Home and Away’

HomeAndAwayEndemol, a world leader in entertainment programming has announced a new acquisition for Australian drama series Home and Away.
In a deal brokered by Endemol Worldwide Distribution, the New Zealand broadcaster TV3 Network Ltd have snapped up two further seasons of the international hit show. 

Cathy Payne, Chief Executive Officer at Endemol Worldwide Distribution comments: “Home and Away remains one of the longest running and most successful dramas in our portfolio.  It’s as addictive today as it ever has been and continues to be followed by generations of loyal fans all over the world.  We’re extremely proud of the show and delighted to be partnering with TV3 for a further two seasons.”

Kelly Martin, Director of Programming  at TV3 Network Services Ltd said: “Home and Away is one of TV3’s most important shows, and we’re thrilled to have renewed our agreement with Endemol for the ongoing rights to broadcast the series.  New Zealanders love watching this slice of what they know is real Aussie life!  Long may it last.”

Produced by the Seven Network Australia, Home and Away has become a viewing phenomenon around the world.  The series focuses on the community in the fictitious beachside town of Summer Bay, a beautiful seaside resort town where the residents are blessed with a fantastic climate and miles of stunning beaches.  There’s plenty of action on and off the sand as the boys and girls of Summer Bay carry on with their pranks, love triangles and family feuds.

Consistently ranking in the top ten programmes on air Monday to Friday in Australia, Home and Away has also been acquired by Five (UK), AB Droits (France), SBS6 (Netherlands), RTE (Ireland), VTM (Belgium), TV2 (Norway), Hot 3 (Israel), Viasat 3 (Hungary), Go TV (Africa and South Africa), Voice TV (Finland ), Kanal 2 (Estonia), TNT (Cyprus and Turkey), TVA (Albania and Macedonia) and Australia Network (Asia Pacific).
