London : The UK’s leading marketing magazine has named RAPP UK as its Direct Agency of the Year.
Marketing, part of the Haymarket group of publications, unveiled the accolade after detailed submissions from five shortlisted agencies were scrutinised by a panel of client company judges.
The Omnicom owned agency was heralded by the judges for its “transformation” with the re-brand to RAPP in October 2008 described as “the final chapter in a story that has fundamentally repositioned and re-established the business as a competitive force in the industry.”
The past 12 months, the judges noted, were “the culmination of a determined multi-year effort to re-orient the business towards the future.”
Business growth – which included new account wins from brands such as Skype, GSK, UNICEF and Barclaycard – was testament to the value of the changes the agency had undergone, according to the panel.
The magazine acknowledged the agency’s innovation, development of its focus on digital and “strong, integrated offering.”
Commenting on the award, RAPP UK CEO, Marco Scognamiglio, says: “In what has been one of the most challenging years in living memory this is a fabulous testament to the quality of our people and the strength of our integrated offering.”
He adds: “Any agency, however, is only as good as its clients and the work they let them produce. We’re very fortunate to have such supportive clients and we look forward to them and us picking up many more awards in the coming years.”
Said Bob Horvath, RAPP Global CEO, “This is well-deserved recognition. Our team in the UK has shown true leadership in creativity and innovation. They have eagerly taken on our broader global promise to provide winning, results-driven ideas to help our clients grow their businesses.”
