Vdopia Named a TiE50 Award Winner

San Jose :Vdopia , the groundbreaking advertising technology company behind mobile advertising leader iVdopia , has been named one of the 50 winners of the prestigious TiE50 Award for its innovation, ingenuity, strong management team and quality of ideas.

TiE, the organizer of TiEcon 2010, the world’s largest conference for entrepreneurs, announced the winners chosen from a field of nearly 4,000 applicants, which received close to 100,000 votes in the selection process. The recipients represent the companies in five sectors driving today’s economy: BioSciences, Cleantech, Internet, Software and Wireless. The TiE50 Award winners will be showcased at TiEcon 2010 at the Santa Clara Convention Center on May 14-15.

“Our team is honored to receive this recognition, which acknowledges the innovation and pioneering drive behind the company,” said Chhavi Upadhyay, Chief Operating Officer of Vdopia and iVdopia. “We have to develop new ways of serving customers in mobile and online advertising to stay ahead, and this award is a nod to the hard work and the breakthroughs we have achieved.”

iVdopia has introduced a succession of innovations in mobile advertising that have secured its place as the leader in the field, from the first mobile ads that let users stay within the application to the first social media ads for mobile to the first high-def ads for the iPad. As the fastest-growing video and rich media ad network, iVdopia has delivered to publishers mobile video ads with a click-through rate that’s four to five times greater than online banner ads. iVdopia’s ongoing innovations, such as the high-def ads for the iPad, highlight the company’s talent for developing breakthrough video advertising solutions that optimize the capabilities of the most advanced mobile devices.

Since receiving their award, the 2009 TiE50 winners have collectively raised more than $2B in funding. Intuit acquired 2009 TiE50 recipient Mint.com for $170 million in cash and Iron Mountain purchased TiE50 winner Mimosa Systems for $112 million in cash.

“We’re exceedingly grateful to receive this illustrious award,” said Vdopia and iVdopia Chief Business Officer Saurabh Bhatia. “In light of our numerous product launches and consistent growth, it’s very flattering to have an organization as respected as TiE to name us among the best in entrepreneurship, to describe us as role models and to acknowledge our passion and track record for innovation.”
