AllofUs creates a 2012 Olympic Tracker for The Telegraph

Interactive Design Consultancy AllofUs has created a dynamic Olympics tracker to sit across the pages of The Telegraph website and on their mobile apps during the 2012 London Olympics this summer.

The tracker will sit across all articles on the Telegraph for the duration of the Games.  It includes four columns of key information: the latest headlines, what is going on in the live blog, upcoming events you cannot afford to miss and selected results featuring all British performances, all medals and all records.   The tracker can be expanded at the click of a mouse or can be used as a pop-out window so Telegraph website readers can keep up to date with all the latest information.

AllofUs won the work in October 2011 with a brief to update the already comprehensive but static and print based Olympics section of The Telegraph website, whilst appealing to the younger and more diverse Telegraph Sport readers. The coverage and comment needed to be displayed in an exciting interactive way that would bring the energy and drama of the London 2012 Olympic games to life.

The tracker launches today, Friday July 27th, and will run until the end of the 2012 London Olympics. It can be found in minimised form on every page of The Telegraph website, and can be expanded at any time by the user. It is also be available as a standalone desktop widget for easy access.

Ben Clissitt, Head of Sport, Telegraph Media Group says: “We are grateful for the solid technical base AllofUs built for our Olympics tracker.  The Telegraph will offer unrivalled coverage on every platform and this tracker further enhances our Olympic offering.”

Nick Cristea, Creative Partner, AllofUs says: “Rapid envisioning has now become one of the most important parts of our business as we help brands realise the new product and service opportunities that exist for them and their customer. Taking a user centred approach ensures that there is always a clear set of real needs around which the design can be formed as opposed to long sets of business and technical requirements.

“This project is a great example of how much can be achieved in a very short space of time when you work collaboratively and in quick iterations towards a clearly defined goal. It is a project that we thoroughly enjoyed working on and one that we look forward to using during the London 2012 games.”
