In conjunction with the launch, the channel will showcase &ldquo;Off Duty,&rdquo; a daily lifestyle show debuting today based on the eponymous section of WSJ Weekend, the Journal&rsquo;s Saturday paper.&nbsp; </p>
<p>	Hosted by Wall Street Journal reporter Wendy Bounds, &ldquo;Off Duty&rdquo; will bring to life many of its namesake&rsquo;s features, as well as other culture coverage from the Journal &ndash; from food to fashion, music and movies, travel to tech. The show will air each business day at 6 p.m. ET on WSJ.com and WSJ Live, the Journal&rsquo;s interactive video application, followed immediately by on-demand availability on YouTube and additional channels. Live episodes begin Monday, February 6. </p>
<p>
	Wall Street Journal video includes multiple shows, news updates, reporting from the field, exclusive interviews and special events coverage. YouTube is the latest distribution channel for WSJ Live, which currently features up to four hours of live programming per business day as well as on-demand video via the iPad, Internet-televisions and set-top boxes. &ldquo;Off Duty&rdquo; joins Digits, Lunch Break, Mean Street, Markets Hub, Opinion Journal and the News Hub, as well as an extensive archive of clips showcasing news and reporting from the more than 2,000 journalists across the Journal and Dow Jones. </p>
<p>	In addition to YouTube, the WSJ Live app is available via Apple TV, Google TV and Roku as well as Boxee, Etisalat, Hulu, Panasonic&rsquo;s VIERA ConnectTM -enabled HDTVs, Samsung 2011 Smart TVs, Sony Internet TV, VIZIO Internet Apps HDTVs, and the Yahoo! Connected TV platform. The WSJ Live app for iPad has been downloaded more than 160,000 times since launch in September 2011.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">BBC Worldwide is make episodes of Top Gear available to Facebook users at a cost of 93p.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The BBC&#039;s commercial arm has developed a video-on-demand app for Facebook that will allow users of the website to rent a limited number of Top Gear episodes using Facebook Credits.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The corporation is initially offering three episodes &ndash; the Polar Special, US Road Trip and Vietnam Road Trip &ndash; at a cost of 15 Facebook Credits each, the equivalent of 93p. Once rented, episodes will be available to view for 48 hours.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Facebook has about 700 million users globally, but the Top Gear episodes will only be made available for users in Europe, the US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">&quot;Top Gear has amassed a huge following on Facebook with almost 14 million friends following the brand itself and the Stig,&quot; said the show&#039;s managing director, Adam Waddell. &quot;We&#039;re always looking at ways of adding value for the core fans of the show so it&#039;s entirely appropriate that we should be one of the first TV shows to make its premium content available via Facebook.&quot;&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Last month BBC Worldwide struck a similar deal with Facebook to allow fans to watch classic episodes of Doctor Who.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">On Monday Miramax <a href="http://paidcontent.org/article/419-miramax-launching-multi-title-facebook-movie-app-in-u.s.-uk-turkey/" title="">unveiled a movie streaming service</a> through Facebook at a cost of 30 Facebook Credits each.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Last week FA Cup sponsor Budweiser <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/aug/17/fa-cup-opener-live-facebook" title="">brokered a deal</a> with non-league teams Ascot United and Wembley FC to stream the opening game of the FA Cup live.&nbsp;</p>

<p>	The portal will put online information from the Vatican&#39;s Osservatore Romano newspaper, radio and television media outlets as part of Roman Catholic Church&#39;s fresh communication push.</p>
<p>	The content will include articles and video clips on the activities of the Holy See and commentaries on the global events as seen by the Catholic Church, written in English and Italian.</p>
<p>	Experts predict high popularity of the portal as the Catholic Church has about 1.1 billion followers around the world.</p>

<p>	According to a press release, writers are invited to offer scripts to the studio, and filmmakers can submit test movies of more than 70 minutes for consideration.</p>
<p>	In conjunction with the ratings given to the scripts and test films by fans, a panel made up of industry experts will select the competition winners, Amazon said.</p>

Run by Google&#8217;s Android operating system, it will let users view all kinds of Web content on their televisions, Google said Monday announcing the partnerships on its official blog.</p>
<p>The post announced that other deals are in place for Web sites to optimize their content for Google TV. CNN.com is one of those sites as are others, including TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, owned by parent company Time Warner.</p>
<p>&#8220;One of our goals with Google TV is to finally open up the living room and enable new innovation from content creators, programmers, developers and advertisers,&#8221; Ambarish Kenghe, developer product manager for Google TV, said in the post.</p>
<p>Other partnerships include NBC Universal, which plans CNBC Real Time, an application that tracks stocks, and Twitter, which will let users post to the microblogging site as they&#8217;re watching a show.</p>
<p>HBO, also owned by Time Warner, will offer more than 600 hours of programming optimized for Google TV. The NBA has built NBA Game Time, which will give real-time score updates and highlights.</p>
<p>Google joins fellow tech giant Apple in making preholiday season moves into the world of television. While online entertainment has emerged as a viable option through sites such as YouTube and Hulu, there are still significantly more television viewers than Web users worldwide.</p>
<p>Music sites such as VEVO, Pandora and Napster are building apps for the platform, as are Amazon Video on Demand, The New York Times and USA Today.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is just the beginning,&#8221; Kenghe wrote. &#8220;Over the next few weeks, you can expect to hear from more sites that are enhancing their Web content for the television.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;To be featured in Playboy magazine is the ultimate accomplishment for a photographer or model,&#8221; says Playboy Editorial Director and Chief Content Officer Jimmy Jellinek. &#8220;For one of the first times ever, we are affording that opportunity through a competition. It won&#8217;t be easy; competition will be stiff, and only photos that live up to Playboy&#8217;s highest standards of class, sex appeal, and style will be considered for the magazine.&#8221;</p>
<p>In each of the series&#8217; ten episodes, two teams are charged with one sexy photo shoot assignment and given a chance to wow Shootout&#8217;s panel of judges, comprised of celebrities and Playboy Playmates and photographers. During the photo shoots, competing photographers and models receive guidance from longtime Playboy Senior Contributing Photographer Arny Freytag, who has spent years shooting celebrity pictorials and Playmate Centerfolds for the magazine. Following the photo shoots &#8211; with themes ranging from &#8220;boudoir&#8221; to &#8220;Centerfold&#8221; &#8211; the teams are evaluated, and one is sent packing.</p>
<p>Playboy Shootout showcases the unique talents and demanding trades of both photographers and models. But in the end, only one photographer and one model are lucky enough to grace the pages of Playboy magazine. And only one person is qualified to make that decision: Hugh Hefner. In Shootout&#8217;s penultimate episode, the stars of The Girls Next Door will hand-deliver Hef&#8217;s final decision, sealing the fate of the final two teams. The season finale will document the winning model and photographer pair shooting their Playboy pictorial.</p>
<p>The special one-hour series premiere of Playboy Shootout will air on Playboy TV on Saturday, April 3 at 10:00 P.M. EST/PT, as part of Playboy TV&#8217;s Date Night. Date Night is a new, special lineup of original Playboy TV programming created specifically for couples to enjoy together. New thirty minute episodes of Shootout will air every Saturday during the Date Night lineup until the season finale on June 5.</p>

<p>Google Sites continued to rank as the top U.S. video property in November as it delivered 12.2 billion videos viewed with YouTube.com accounting for nearly 99 percent of all videos viewed at the property. Hulu ranked second with 924 million videos viewed (3.0 percent) followed by Viacom Digital with 500 million (1.6 percent) and Microsoft Sites with 480 million (1.5 percent).</p>
<p>More than 170 million viewers watched an average of 182 videos per viewer during the month of November. Google Sites attracted 129 million unique viewers during the month (94.7 videos per viewer), followed by Yahoo! Sites with more than 55 million viewers (8.5 videos per viewer) and Fox Interactive Media with 50 million viewers (8.9 videos per viewer). The average Hulu viewer watched 21.1 videos during the month, representing another all-time high for the property.</p>
<p>In November, Tremor Media ranked as the #1 video ad network with a potential reach of 85 million viewers, or 49.8 percent of the total viewing audience. Advertising.com Video Network ranked second with a potential reach of 80 million viewers (47.1 percent penetration) followed by YuMe Video Network with 73 million viewers (43.0 percent).</p>
